History

The foundation of the Department of Agricultural Structures and Irrigation was laid by the "Department of Agricultural Engineering and Construction," established by a decision of the University Senate on May 20, 1958. Following the University Law No. 1750, the department system was changed, and accordingly, the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Construction, the Department of Soil Science, and the Department of Plant Nutrition were incorporated into the "Soil Science Department." In 1982, after Law No. 2547, the "Department of Agricultural Engineering" was established as a separate department. The name of this department was changed to "Department of Agricultural Structures and Irrigation" in 1991.
