History
Department of Agricultural Structures and Irrigation was established in 1982. The department continues its education on undergraduate and graduate levels, and research activities on the subjects of agricultural structures, irrigation, agricultural meteorology, agricultural drainage and land reclamation.
Some ongoing research activities can be listed as; climate change impacts on water resources and agriculture, adaptation and mitigation to climate change, determination of optimum irrigation schedules for crops, irrigation water quality, agricultural drainage, reclamation of saline and alkaline soils, use of marginal water in irrigation, irrigation water management, agricultural hydrology, land consolidation, improving agricultural structures convenient for regional conditions.
